So, ii "met" this one amazing person in Florida who goes by the name of Stefanie ******. Although her career is a tiny bit different than mine, she knows and understands all that ii will have to go through. Even though we have never met face to face, ii feel so close to her and ii appreciate all that she has done for me because she is a truly amazing woman. ii see her like ii see Daddy Yankee sometimes... as a symbol of superacion and achieving dreams. She has taught me that there is only one life to live and that nothing should stop me from reaching my goals. Esperan 30 mil personas en megafestival musical en Jacó

Jacó. - Aunque se presagian muchas presas y un gentío caminando por las calles, la Municipalidad de Garabito promete orden y seguridad para quienes asistan a los conciertos del “Jacó Beach Music Festival” que se realizará este fin de semana y cuyo plato fuerte es la presentación del puertorriqueño “Daddy Yankee”.

Gota Producciones, organizadora del festival, espera que 30 mil personas asistan a los conciertos y espectáculos culturales que estarán a cargo de artistas nacionales y extranjeros. En la finca habrá tres tarimas, 10 puestos de comida, una sección VIP, áreas para cabinas sanitarias y parqueo.

Más de 30 artistas ticos y extranjeros, de 15 géneros distintos de música, se presentarán durante las 12 horas continuas entre las 6 p.m. del sábado 2 de febrero y las 6 a.m. del domingo 3.

Siete puestos de Cruz Roja, 150 oficiales de seguridad privada, 50 efectivos de la Fuerza Pública y 15 de la Policía Turística serán los encargados de velar por el orden dentro y fuera del Proyecto Garabú, la finca privada donde se realizará el megafestival musical.

Arnoldo Alpízar, vicealcalde de Garabito, afirmó ayer que el próximo viernes a las 10 a.m. el Ministerio de Salud y el cuerpo de bomberos revisarán las estructuras y el área de conciertos para garantizar la seguridad de los fanáticos que asistan.

Según Alpízar, Jacó tiene la capacidad para recibir esa cantidad de personas, puesto que en temporada alta han tenido hospedaje para atender hasta 100 mil personas en un fin de semana.

“Es la primera experiencia de este tipo y pensamos que podría haber mucho tránsito en las calles, pero la ventaja es que la finca queda alejada del puro centro. Ya coordinamos con los cuerpos de emergencias, Tránsito y el Organismo de Investigación Judicial para prevenir situaciones de riesgo”, manifestó.



La empresa Transportes Jacó dará el servicio de buses de forma regular desde las 5 a.m. del sábado y domingo y las unidades salen de la Coca Cola en San José o de la terminal en Jacó.

El precio del pasaje es de ¢1.440.

La totalidad de lo recaudado en el festival se destinará a dos proyectos sociales en el cantón de Garabito. Uno es la construcción de una escuela de música y conformación de una banda municipal y el otro es dotar a playa Jacó de más salvavidas.

Mucha gente se me pasa preguntando preguntas de la carrera de Yankee y sobre todo su musica. Miskeen Originals: Body Art

If you've seen Soulja Boy's "Crank That" video, then you are familiar with the Miskeen Originals clothing line. Souljah Boy's customized 'Superman' hoodie was hand-crafted by the artists in Miskeen's state-of-the-art studio in Camden, New Jersey.



Miskeen was born in West-Philadelphia by an artist that put his pain and passion for his
community on shirts. The hand-painted shirts became so popular that they were selected by Dr. Denim, a clothing outlet, which sold 200 shirts in a weekend. Due to Miskeen's overwhelming popularity, the best artists throughout the community were hired to accommodate the increasing demand.



Miskeen is very involved in the community as they have a member on the board of the Philadelphia Special Olympics, where they paint beautiful canvases, auction them off, and donate the proceeds. They also sponsor the Camden High School track team, and their artists paint walls in children's hospitals. They even visited children in Jamaica to demonstrate the joy of expressing themselves through art.



Since 1999, Miskeen has become well-respected on the streets and has gained a great deal of support from the urban music community. Music icons like Jay-Z and Diddy, and sports figures like Lebron James and Shaquille O'Neal have been spotted wearing Miskeen's colorful one-of-a-kind shirts. Miskeen has gained popularity in the U.S., as well as Japan, South America and Europe giving the line worldwide appeal.



With a men's line, a women’s line, a kids' collection and a brand new sneaker line, Miskeen is becoming a force to be reckoned with. We caught up with Miskeen's Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, Jasmijn Rijcken, to discuss the artists' unique methods of designing and production and the future of Miskeen.



AllHipHop.com: How long has Miskeen been in existence?



Jasmijn: We started back in the day on the street but we have been in the stores about six years.



AllHipHop.com: Each garment is a unique design in the sense that no two garments are the same, correct?



Jasmijn: Yes, the hand-painted garments are one of a kind, but our collections are based on art and are very limited edition. So on the one hand we have the hand-painted clothes that are one of a kind, and then we have the collections and they come in groups.



AllHipHop.com: Now with the hand-painted designs, I'm sure that requires a huge team of designers. How many designers are involved?



Jasmijn: We have 45 hand-paint artists, 10 graphic designers and illustrators, and about seven fashion designers.



AllHipHop.com: So that's a big team!



Jasmijn: Yes, a large percentage of the company is creative, and everybody is working together so you don't necessarily have to be limited to your own discipline. If you come in as a hand-paint artist but you see what the fashion designers are doing and you have an idea, you can go work with them or vice versa. We want everyone to express their feelings through art.



AllHipHop.com: Are there any artists that stand out?



Jasmijn: I like to believe that every artist brings value to the company. We select the artists and they go through training. At first they might start by exclusively doing background painting, but in the end there are a group of senior artists - maybe 15. I don't want to highlight one, because I believe it's a collaboration of artists that makes Miskeen strong and not one person.



AllHipHop.com: So it's truly a team concept, it's not like [any] artist is better than [the other].



Jasmijn: Right, maybe one is better in this and the other is better than that, like one might be good in portrait while the other can do abstract a little better. I think the power of Miskeen is that it's a group of artists, and because of that, it gives the designs a great degree of diversity. It's a great thing that Miskeen can employ all of these artists and give them a full-time regular job creating art all day.


I think that's one of the beauties about Miskeen too is that the better the company does, the more artists we can hire and create this unique place in the world where people can create art all day, and have a salary with benefits.



AllHipHop.com: Who are some of the Hip-Hop artists currently wearing Miskeen?



Jasmijn: Well of course right now the most famous example at the time is Soulja Boy in the "Crank that Soulja Boy" video. We made his Superman hoodie. Hurricane Chris, Bun B, MIMS, Busta Rhymes, Daddy Yankee, Paul Wall, Fat Joe, The Game, Method Man, Redman, all of the Wu Tang Clan, the list goes on. I have a Wall of Fame in my office and you can't say you're a big rap artist if you're not on my Wall of Fame wearing Miskeen. [laughs]



AllHipHop.com: What about on the R&B side?



Jasmijn: Chris Brown, Lyfe Jennings, I'm looking at my wall as we speak [laughs]… Tyrese, Boyz II Men - they still make great records and they wear Miskeen all the time - T-Pain and a few others.



AllHipHop.com: Miskeen has a men's collection, a ladies’ collection, a kids' collection and sneakers. Elaborate on those a little.



Jasmijn: The sneakers and the ladies line just launched recently, about a year ago. The sneakers are very limited edition, you won't see them on every street corner, only at the most exclusive stores. We have hand-painted sneakers and limited edition sneakers. The colors all match and tie into our collections for the clothes so they're always matching as well as the caps and the belts and the other accessories.



The kids' line is basically a highlight of the best selling men's collection. We make those designs in a small size for the kids, and people really love that because it looks really cute. [laughs] We also do hand-painting for the kids. The ladies line is very fashion forward, it's very diverse with different shades, we have dresses and shirts and cute little jeans, and we have the collection and the hand-painted. AllHipHop.com: Do you have a particular design that's one of your personal favorites?



Jasmijn: Yeah, I like the Illusion group, it's the new collection coming out in the Spring and it has really nice colors with a lot of art elements in the graphics. It's very complex and it looks fun. We moved away from theme-based collections and started much smaller collections. First we had one big group and everything had the same theme. Now it's more individual pieces that somehow tie in together because of the color and because of the style - so it's more experimental and innovative, and we have different brushes and use different art techniques and silhouettes. I would say that makes us a lot more diverse than we were before.



AllHipHop.com: What are the future plans for the company?



Jasmijn: We don't want to grow too big, because we don't want Miskeen to become this household name that's on every corner. It should always be a very exclusive, fast-changing, innovative product that only the fan base that know [Miskeen] and know the art involved are wearing it. Art isn't the same if it's over done. We want it to be exclusive and always be true to what we are with the designs and customized hand-painting.



We are the voice of the people. We hire people from the community to paint for the people. If you come here you'd be so surprised - it's a big art studio. Our offices have colorful walls covered with art. The artists are from all different cultures, everyone is young - I dare to say that 90 percent of them are under 34-years-old. It's just a fun group of people that love to make clothes.

Cuanto sabes de Daddy Yankee?

Es imposible ponerle una etiqueta a un artista como Daddy Yankee. No sólo es un innovador del género de reggaetón, sino un artista completo, vendedor multiplatino, un intérprete que estremece a multitudes con sus candentes rimas sobre es escenario, un empresario exitoso, productor y desarrollador de talento, portavoz de causas nobles y un humanitario. ¿Cuánto sabes de él?

La música, al igual que la vida, tiene sus etapas, y así mismo ha sido la evolución a lo que se le llama ahora el reggaetón, género que aún se discute de donde nació, pero que ha capturado el mundo entero por su pegajoso ritmo y manera de bailar.

Cada 15 de septiembre se celebra el “Día Nacional del Reggaetón“, que sirve para rememorar cómo nació este género en los barrios y residenciales públicos de Puerto Rico, específicamente en los hogares de Rubén DJ, DJ Playero y DJ Negro, quienes usaban pistas del “dancehall”.

Otros indican que el género se creó en Panamá por los cantantes “El General” y “Nando Boom”.

DJ Nelson, quien empezó en la música con DJ Eric en 1987, podría ser considerado el padrino del género, pues fue él quien inventó en el 1994 la palabra reggaetón

No obstante, los puertorriqueños Rubén DJ, Vico C, Brewley MC, Lisa M, Big Boy y el grupo Kid Power Posse le dieron vida al género a finales de los ochenta y principios de los noventa.

Rubén DJ, según explicó a Efe, produjo su primer disco “La Escuela” junto a DJ Joel en 1989, año en que Vico C también lanzó al mercado su primera producción, un casete de cuatro canciones: “La recta final”, “Gusto, sexo y consecuencias”, “Viernes 13″ y “El amor existe”.

En los siguientes años, Vico C continuó acaparando los mercados y llevando su estilo único de componer con canciones como “El Filósofo”, “Tony Presidio”, “I like it”, “Explosión”, “Saboréalo” y “Blanca”, que interpretó junto a la orquesta de merengue del dominicano Jossie Esteban y La patrulla 15.

vico cAsí, Vico C, denominado el “Filósofo del rap“, se consagraba como el mayor intérprete de la música urbana en Puerto Rico y Latinoamérica, y además se convirtió en el primer rapero puertorriqueño en presentarse en España.

Comenzó una nueva etapa en el género con las salidas de las producciones “The Noise” y “Playero“, las cuales tenían sus exclusivos cantantes como Baby Ranks, Ivy Queen, Notty Boy, Baby Rasta y Gringo en el primero, y Daddy Yankee, Maicol, Manuel, Rey Pirín, Chezina, Alberto Stylee y Mexicano en el segundo.

Mientras, Vico C, las producciones de “The Noise” encabezadas por DJ Negro y DJ Nelson, Playero, así como la llegada de otros productores como Black, Goldy, Chiclín, Stéfano, Crane, Dicky, Adam y Nico Canadá siguieron trabajando para llevar el género a otro nivel y conquistar el mercado latinoamericano.

Por su parte, DJ Nelson, quien empezó en la música con DJ Eric en 1987, podría ser considerado el padrino del género, pues fue él quien inventó en el 1994 la palabra reggaetón, que surgió cuando al terminar un disco, no sabía si titularlo “Maratón del reggae” o “Reggae maratón”.

Al ver que ninguno de los títulos le convenció, decidió unir las palabras y crear el famoso nombre, por lo que se siente “orgulloso” porque tiene su “granito de arena” en la historia del género, según contó el presidente de la compañía Flow Music.

Francisco Saldaña y Víctor Cabrera llegaron al estudio de Nelson para iniciar su carrera musical. Según recordó Nelson, Saldaña, era mejor conocido como DJ Flex, pero éste decidió bautizarlos como Luny Tunes

Según dijo Canadá a Efe, el propósito de la primera producción fue combinar las culturas del hip-hop en EEUU y el reggaetón, en Puerto Rico, uniendo los artistas más sobresalientes de cada género.

Mientras Vico C proseguía su exitosa carrera, arribó David Sánchez Badillo, mejor conocido como Tempo, quien revolucionó el género por su estilo único de componer temas del bajo mundo.

Los cantantes, por su parte, aprovecharon una caída de Vico C con su vicio de drogas, llegó a ser encarcelado, y en 1998, el veterano cantante Héctor “El Father”, lanzó “The Godfather”, producción que contó con la participación de la mayoría de los grandes exponentes del momento.

En los meses posteriores, también debutó el dúo Wisin y Yandel, Zion y Lennox, Yaga y Mackie, así como Tego Calderón y Don Omar, todos con un ímpetu de ganar fama y éxito dentro del género.

No tan sólo DJ Nelson aportó el nombre del género, sino que también fue el que ayudó a que dos jóvenes dominicanos, que trabajaban en la cafetería de la Universidad de Harvard en Boston (Massachussets), a convertirse en los máximos productores actuales.

Francisco Saldaña y Víctor Cabrera llegaron al estudio de Nelson para iniciar su carrera musical. Según recordó Nelson, Saldaña, era mejor conocido como DJ Flex, pero éste decidió bautizarlos como Luny Tunes, pues se parecían a los personajes animados, además del grupo de productores estadounidenses Neptunes.

El dúo de productores inició su carrera artística en 2002 grabando voces a los cantantes, pero luego le surgió la oportunidad de producir “Diva”, de Ivy Queen.

En 2005, el género tomó otro rumbo cuando llegó el grupo “Calle 13“, compuesto por René Pérez “Residente” y su hermanastro Eduardo Cabra “Visitante”, que combinaba la lírica del reggaetón y la fusión de instrumentos nunca antes escuchados en la música urbana.

Por su parte, José “Hyde” Cotto, uno de los responsables de los éxitos de Daddy Yankee, sostuvo que el reggaetón está “en evolución” y en “un período de transición”, donde el género se convertirá “urbano”.

Así como artistas que han podido mantenerse activos en el reggaetón desde sus inicios como Daddy Yankee, Baby Ranks, Ivy Queen, Eddie Dee, entre otros, la nueva generación también han demostrado que deben ser acogidos con mucho respeto.

Esos reguetoneros de “la nueva escuela” como Jowell, Randy, Arcángel, D’ La Ghetto, Cosculluela no se han dejado intimidar, pues debido a sus estilos únicos, los fanáticos los han aceptado.

Y tras más de 500 producciones durante su historia y las críticas continúen de parte de los musicólogos de que el reggaetón ha decaído en los últimos años, el género continuará conquistando al mundo con su estilo único.

Miguelito, heredero con padrinos

Sentado en un trono, como todo un “heredero”, Miguelito recibió a los invitados al lanzamiento de su nueva producción musical, con la que busca imitar el éxito de su padrino musical Daddy Yankee.

El niño de 9 años presentó el disco “El heredero” a un reducido grupo de familiares y amigos que llegaron hasta el Coliseo de Puerto Rico, en Hato Rey, para patinar sobre la pista de hielo, al mismo tiempo que disfrutaban de una muestra de las canciones que se encuentran en este cedé.

“Soy el heredero del reguetón de Daddy Yankee”, dijo el pequeño cantante, mientras saludaba al público que, para entrar, debía caminar entre cadetes de la escuela Bayamón Military Academy, que servían de escoltas.

“Éste es el mundo de Miguelito, en donde pueden jugar, patinar y escuchar mi música”, añadió el pequeño.

Desde las seis de la tarde, los niños y adultos invitados patinaron sobre la pista de hielo, mientras escuchaban el nuevo disco de este pequeño intérprete. Después de las 8:00 de la noche, se dio el anuncio del comienzo del show.

El intérprete de “Móntala” subió a la tarima, ubicada sobre el hielo, a cantar con algunos de los reguetoneros que le acompañan en su disco, entre ellos Divino, Randy, Gol 2 y Daddy Yankee.

Arrancó con “La escuela”, “Sola” acompañado de su hermano Gol 2, “Tranquilo Huey”, acompañado de Randy, “Dale Mambo”, “Tírate un paso” y “Al son de púm”, junto a Daddy Yankee.

Con el apoyo de “El cangri”

Miguelito es uno de los artistas de El Cartel Records, propiedad de Daddy Yankee, por lo que el famoso intérprete de reguetón “no podía faltar” a la noche de lanzamiento.

Reggaeton Moviendose Hacia Pop Commercial

En el último año por ahí, reggaeton -- una vez demasiado violento y salaz para el tiempo principal -- ha estado mutando en algo que se parece totalmente a la música pop.

Aguijoneado por productores como Luny Tunes y el inconteniblemente experimental Calle 13, el choque implacable y muele gangsta imprescindible ha sido afinado de nuevo con precisión en algo que suena como "The Chronic" -la música hip-hop de la era con un fuete setid Carribeno. Cuándo usted escuchas el nuevo álbumde Voltio, "En Lo Claro" (Sony Norte), el proceso parece completo.

Sonando más como B-Real de Cypress Hill que Snoop Dogg, Voltio ha llegado a ser de repente una voz dominante en el género. Su 2005 álbum de debut auto titulado fue applaudido por su Liricas narativas, la innovación y la cubierta innovadora del golpe de Hector Lavoe "Julito Marana". Pero "En Lo Claro (Hablando Francamente)" tan navega exitosamente la crudeza de la cultura de la calle de Puerto Rico, raíces juguetonas de sarcasmo y salsa que desafían Calle 13 y Daddy Yankee como el álbum urbano del año.

El álbum es ambiciosamente ecléctico, recorriendo de reggaeton de chicle con "Ponmela" representando a Patán de hitmakers Jowell Y Randy "Un Amor Como Tu (UN Amor Como Usted)" con Arcangel, a la sátira del vallenato-infundió de "El Mellao" y un aire de dura salsa "Pelea"que suena como si vino del primer disco de Willie Colon. En una balada asustar efectiva/la fusión del salto de cadera, Voltio comercia versos con el Gran Tito Rodriguez en "Yo Se Que Tiemblas," que rehace un bolero de Tito Curet Alonso de los '60s.

Muchos de elementos básicos de reggaeton son presentes en "En aquí Claro". "Mí Panes del Mal de maíz (Usted Me Hace Malo)," producido por el moderno es Nemente un pavoneo de pared de dembow de alto-concepto acerca de una atracción irresistible de pista de baile, y acerca de rimas de "Ponmela" "la mini" con bikini y Houdini con una inocencia tímida que resona con su resurgimiento de ritmos de "Planet Rock" de DJ Arthur Baker.

Fuera de un par de vestigios de Tego Calderon, no ha habido muchas rock/reggaeton tracks para recordar Run DMC y Aerosmith "Walk This Way," pero aquí Voltio llama a los rockros puertorriqueños Vivanativa en "Feka" con resultados sorprendentemente fuertes. Tomar una página de Calle 13, Voltio salio con una cumbia en "Cristina," un dúo hilarante con vocaiste de Yerba Buena, Cucu Diamantes.

"En aquí Claro" la experimentación musical tanto te agara la attencion que usted casi puede perder cuanta habilidad Voltio tiene como un poeta. Su intensidad de traba-lengua aparece en "Tu Te Crees," y su narrativa carga "Perdoname".

Mientras ser gangster largo ha sido una grapa de reggaeton y música hip-hop MCs, Voltio demuestra su "realness" incluyendo un DVD de un concierto en vivo desde Oso Blanco, la prisión más grande en Puerto Rico. Cuándo él realiza "Julito Marana," un tema acerca de la muerte de un gángster, con su grupo en directo antes de una multitud de presos, usted puede sentir la conexión que él hace. "Yo los llevo en el corazón porque sé el sufrimiento del encarcelado," y hablando francamente, si lo hace.


Reggeaton making its way to Pop commercial movement

Over the past year or so, reggaeton -- once too violent and salacious for prime time -- has been mutating into something that strongly resembles pop music.

Prodded by producers such as Luny Tunes and the irrepressibly experimental Calle 13, the relentless bump-and-grind gangsta imperative has been finely retuned into something that sounds like "The Chronic"-era hip-hop with a strong Caribbean feel. When you listen to Voltio's new album, "En lo Claro" (Sony Norte), the process seems complete.

Sounding more like Cypress Hill's B-Real than Snoop Dogg, Voltio (nee Julio Irving Ramos Filomeno) has suddenly become a dominant voice in the genre. His 2005 self-titled debut album drew praise for its storytelling, innovation and groundbreaking cover of the Hector Lavoe hit "Julito Marana." But "En lo Claro (Frankly Speaking)" so successfully navigates Puerto Rican street culture's rawness, playful sarcasm and salsa roots that it challenges Calle 13 and Daddy Yankee for urban album of the year.



The album is ambitiously eclectic, ranging from the bubble-gum reggaeton of "Ponmela (Put It There for Me)" featuring hitmakers Jowell y Randy and "Un Amor Como Tu (A Love Like You)" with Arcangel, to the vallenato-infused satire of "El Mellao (The Man With Missing Teeth)" and a salsa dura tune "Pelea (Fight)" that sounds as if it's off Willie Colon's first album. In a startlingly effective ballad/hip-hop fusion, Voltio trades verses with the late great Tito Rodriguez in "Yo Se Que Tiemblas (I Know You Tremble)," which remakes a Tito Curet Alonso bolero from the '60s.

Many of reggaeton's basic elements are present in "En lo Claro." "Me Pones Mal (You Make Me Bad)," produced by the trendy Nely is a high-concept wall-of-dembow strut about an irresistible dance-floor attraction, and "Ponmela" rhymes "la mini" with bikini and Houdini with a coy innocence that resonates with its revival of post-disco DJ Arthur Baker's "Planet Rock" rhythms.

Outside of a couple of Tego Calderon tracks, there haven't been many rock-meets-reggaeton tracks to recall Run DMC's and Aerosmith's "Walk This Way," but here Voltio calls on Puerto Rican rockers Vivanativa on "Feka" with surprisingly strong results. Taking a page from Calle 13, Voltio goes cumbia on "Cristina," a hilarious duet with Yerba Buena vocalist Cucu Diamantes.

"En lo Claro's" musical experimentation is so attention-grabbing that you can almost miss how much skill Voltio has as a lyricist. His tongue-twisting intensity appears on "Tu Te Crees (You Think)," and his storytelling carries "Perdoname."

While street-tough posturing has long been a staple of reggaeton and hip-hop MCs, Voltio proves his "realness" by including a DVD of a live performance from Oso Blanco, Puerto Rico's largest prison. When he performs "Julito Marana," about the death of a gangster, with his live band before a crowd of prisoners, you can feel the connection he's making. "I carry you guys in my heart because I know the suffering of the imprisoned," and frankly speaking, he does.

Jaco Beach Music Festival 2008 in Costa Rica

The Jaco Beach Music Festival will take place on Feb. 2, 2008 at the Finca Proyecto Garabu in Jaco Beach, Costa Rica. The main event will be a performance by reggaeton king Daddy Yankee as a part of his The Big Boss world tour.

Guests can expect performances by a total of 30 national and international groups, 15 styles of music, 4 stages and 12 hours of non-stop music and activities. The organizers expect an attendance of up to 30,000 people, including about 2,000 tourists.

The theme of the concert is “A world without drugs,” with the goal of drawing children away from drugs and promoting other healthy activities. Some of the activities and features that will take place during the event include: a fashion show, breakdance competition between the best groups in Costa Rica, Oriental massage room, Arabic style tea room, Information center, Painting exhibit, Tattoo parlor, Beauty salon, Art Fair and a Climbing wall.

The first 6 hours will be open to all ages and dedicated to live performances by the main music groups, with the performance by Daddy Yankee scheduled for around 8pm. After midnight, only the 18 and over crowd is permitted to witness 6 more hours of performances by international DJs and laser light shows.

The presale tickets for the event cost $20 for general admission and $50 for VIP, and there is an extra $10 charge if purchase at the event. All of the proceeds will be dedicated to Jaco Lifeguards, Music School and the Garabito municipal band.

Como estrella del reguetón, el cantante Miguelito ha tenido la oportunidad de realizar muchas más tareas que la mayoría de los niños de su edad, así como una gran parte de los adultos.

Pero el joven de nueve años de edad no ha podido disfrutar de experiencias simples como la de patinar sobre hielo.

Este lunes, el intérprete de “Móntala” podrá hacerlo en la presentación de su nuevo disco, “El heredero”, en el Coliseo de Puerto Rico, en Hato Rey, donde habrá una pista de patinaje de ese tipo.

Eso sí, tendrá que hacerlo escapado, pues debe cantar todos los temas de su nuevo proyecto mientras los que asistan al eventos se deslicen.

“Nunca he patinado sobre hielo. La gente va a estar patinando mientras yo canto. No sabemos (si podré hacerlo). Esperemos a que llegue ese día para ver si lo hago”, contó el pequeño cantante a este diario, vía telefónica desde el aeropuerto de Miami.

Esta actividad, que comenzará a las 6:00 de la tarde, será por invitación y contará con la participación de figuras del mundo del espectáculo, como La Sista y Divino, y otras sorpresas.

El primer sencillo en promoción de su más reciente trabajo es “La escuela”, tema del que “en los últimos meses de 2007 grabamos el vídeo que ya está en la calle”, apuntó.

Sin embargo, sobre su educación aseguró haber iniciado el nuevo semestre escolar, pero la promoción de su proyecto lo tiene alejado de las aulas.

“Ya empecé las clases, pero estoy en gira. Estoy en Miami, voy para El Salvador, y el 21 de enero estar(é) presentando todas las canciones del disco. Quiero que vaya todo el mundo y toda la prensa”, contestó un poco evasivo ante la interrogante de si asistía a la escuela.

El trabajo discográfico, que cuenta con 16 temas, fue producido por Naldo y cuenta con colaboraciones de su hermano Gol 2, su padrino Daddy Yankee, La Sista y Divino.

“Lo nuevo de este disco es que viene bien variado, romántico, con merengue y reggae-roots para toda esa gente que le gusta el romantiqueo y todo eso”, mencionó el artista.

“El tema que más me gusta es el que está en promoción primero, y segundo, me gusta ‘Al son del boom’”, confesó quien pasó las Navidades con su familia, “con quien se tienen que pasar siempre”.

Entre los nuevos temas que incluye su más reciente producción, están : “El maltrato”, “Mochila de amor”, “Li’l Boss”, “Ella quiere mambo”, “Así seré”, “Quieren ser como Miguel”, “Lola” y “Tranquilo huey”.

Éste es su segundo trabajo de estudio tras el lanzamiento de “Más grande que tú” en 2006.

EL estreno del programa matutino “El circo” de La Mega no fue normal, sino “anormal”, como bien lo describió el conductor Antonio Sánchez “El Gángster”. Allí no sólo hubo verdaderos payasos y acróbatas, sino que se pautó hasta el Gobernador.

Las felicitaciones por parte de artistas, políticos, deportistas, anunciantes, ejecutivos de la estación y de la audiencia en general no permitieron lo que se supone que sea el ritmo “normal” del programa, que se presume entrará en su verdadero formato a partir de la próxima semana.

Sin embargo, no se afectó la química probada que existe entre “El Combete”, que ahora tiene tantos integrantes como animales en un circo. De hecho, El Gángster, Funky Joe y Daniela Droz aprovecharon para disfrazarse de personajes circenses, lo que dio un mayor colorido al ambiente.

Resaltó –y a otros como a Daddy Yankee les impresionó– el estudio de transmisión desde donde se origina “El circo”, en las instalaciones de SBS en Guaynabo. Se estimó que la inversión sobrepasa el medio millón de dólares.

Es un espacio amplio, equipado con nuevas tecnologías, y que ayer, jueves, permitió la presencia de decenas de personas que libremente interactuaban con los animadores sin afectar la emisión. Más bien parecía un programa de televisión transmitido en directo por radio, aunque Funky Joe prefiere verlo al revés.

Una de las primeras voces que se escuchó vía telefónica fue la de un dormido Aníbal Acevedo Vilá, quien les cuestionó si verdaderamente habrá gente que los escuche a esa hora de la madrugada. Eran las 5:37 cuando lo llamaron.

De la misma forma, estuvieron Tito Trinidad, desde Nueva York; Luis Fonsi, Chayanne e Iván Rodríguez, desde Miami; Tego Calderón, Jorge Rodríguez, director de la Autoridad de Energía Eléctrica, Dayanara Torres, Roselyn Sánchez, David Bernier, secretario del Departamento de Recreación y Deportes, y José Nogueras, quien estando en línea, hizo la conexión para ver el programa en Internet, a través del portal www.elcirco.net. Igualmente los vio Luis Fonsi.

Hasta el estudio llegaron Victoria Sanabria, Quique Domenech, Daddy Yankee, quien se sumó a las felicitaciones y anunció para febrero o marzo el estreno de su película “Talento de barrio”; Rogelio Figueroa, candidato a la Gobernación por el nuevo partido Puertorriqueños por Puerto Rico, Ñejo y Dálmata, y DJ Nelson.

En las cuatro horas y media de transmisión, destacó el momento en que Fuky Joe hizo las pases con el ejecutivo de SBS, Topy Mamery, dando fin a riñas del pasado, y cuando Daniela Droz lloró al agradecer públicamente a sus compañeros la oportunidad que le brindan de ser parte de su equipo.

Más tarde agregó que para ella “es un privilegio formar parte de este equipo, que mis compañeros, que son dos generales y son los dueños de esta maravilla, hayan contado conmigo, que me respeten de la manera que lo hacen, que me permitan ser yo, que me hayan abierto las puertas, (y) que me incluyan en todos sus proyectos, para mí es maravilloso”, expresó cual bailarina de Las Vegas.

Ignoran la competencia

El Gángster calificó la primera emisión como “un palo”, aunque todavía están en una etapa de ajustes con los nuevos equipos.

Tanto el además presentador de televisión como Funky Joe aseguraron que mantendrán su estilo jocoso, picante, sin rayar en la vulgaridad, algo muy de moda entre los espacios de este tipo en las mañanas.

“Nosotros somos un programa multidemográfico, que no debe ofender a nadie. Nosotros debemos divertir y hacerlo brutal, informar, todo lo que se filtre a través de nosotros va a tener chispa, va a tener humor y es todo lo que tenemos que hacer”, declaró Funky Joe, cuyo disfraz todavía es un misterio.

El binomio de locutores, asimismo, afirmó que compiten contra ellos mismos, sin preocuparse por la competencia.

Igualmente “ignoran” a quienes opinan que ambos deben retirarse de la radio, al considerarlos “mayorcitos” para lo que hacen.

“Yo, a palabras necias, oídos sordos. La gente sabe la energía que tengo, siempre estoy alante con lo que está pasando. Si me tengo que poner el pelo pa’ arriba y después pa’ abajo, aunque me parezca a Lou Briel, lo hago. Eso de la vejez está en la mente y en mi mente lo que tengo es juventud, mucha energía y muchas ansias de echar a este país pa’ alante”, puntualizó El Gángster.

“El circo” se transmite de lunes a viernes, de 5:30 de la madrugada a 10:00 de la mañana, y a partir de febrero, se podrá ver en vivo, dentro y fuera de Puerto Rico, por el canal Mega TV, de DirecTV.

‘Flow’ sobre hielo

Con una fiesta sobre hielo celebrada la noche del lunes, Miguelito presentó junto a colegas como Daddy Yankee, Goldo, Naldo y Divino su nuevo disco “El heredero”.

Se trató de un junte diferente en el que los reguetoneros se unieron en una tarima sobre la pista de patinaje sobre hielo de “Funtártica”, en el Coliseo de Puerto Rico, para interpretar varios de los temas incluidos en la producción discográfica.

La idea era que mientras se divirtieran patinando, su fanaticada -entre los que figuraba un nutrido grupo de sus compañeros de escuela- disfrutara del concierto “El heredero”, que además era proyectado en una enorme pantalla.

Para el reguetonero, que cumplió nueve años la víspera del Día de Reyes, el evento fue como continuar esa celebración.

“La pasamos superbien con mis amigos de la escuela y otros invitados, como miembros de la prensa que se dieron un par de ‘matás’ en los patines. Todo quedó muy bien. Patiné, pero después que todo el mundo se fue... tú sabes, para no pasar vergüenzas”, dijo Miguelito a El Nuevo Día.

Los invitados, que a su llegada estampaban su firma y saludos en un libro, fueron recibidos con el saludo protocolario de los cadetes de la Bayamón Military Academy y por Miguelito, quien los esperaba sentado en un trono.

La gran sorpresa de la noche fue la presentación de Daddy Yankee, su padrino musical. “El Cangri” tuvo palabras de elogio para Miguelito “por ser un niño especial” y le auguró un brillante futuro.

De su tercera producción fueron interpretadas unas ocho canciones esa noche, entre estas ‘Mi primer amor’, primer corte de promoción, y ‘No al maltrato’, con la que lleva un mensaje contra de la violencia hacia los niños. Y junto a su hermano “Goldo” interpretó el tema ‘Lola’.

Miguelito, que ya inició la promoción del disco por Estados Unidos, se encuentra en negociaciones para presentarse en concierto en marzo o abril en el Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré. Con ese espectáculo, el pequeño artista espera repetir el éxito de “El suceso”, que presentó el pasado mayo en el Coliseo Roberto Clemente.

Dará Daddy Yankee show en Costa Rica

El máximo exponente del reggaeton, el puertorriqueño Daddy Yankee, dará un concierto en Costa Rica el próximo 2 de febrero como parte de un festival musical, que se celebra en una de las playas más populares del país.



"El Cangri", como se le conoce, hará bailar a los costarricenses durante la clausura del Festival, una fiesta de doce horas de música en la que participarán 30 artistas nacionales e internacionales.

Daddy Yankee no pidió bebidas alcohólicas, pero sí mucho líquido para hidratarse.
Para la presentación del 2 de febrero el boricua Daddy Yankee no pidió mucho, el regguetonero le solicitó a los organizadores que lo traerán al Jaco Music Festival, botellas de agua de manantial a temperatura ambiente para él y su staff. También pidió jugo de naranja natural, bebidas gaseosas y energéticas. Cabe resaltar que Daddy no quiso nada de bebidas alcohólicas cerca de él.

El Cangri desayunará al estilo americano: huevos, tocineta, pan, mermelada, mantequilla, frutas de la temporada, yogurt, café, té y jugo de papaya.

Para el almuerzo, El jefe solicitó emparedados de atún, roast beef, pavo y quesos. Esto lo acompañará con diferentes tipos de ensalada y diferentes variedades de pan tostado.

En la cena el puertorriqueño y su staff podrán escoger entre carne roja o pescado preparados con una salsa liviana.

El reggaetonero puertorriqueño llegará con 30 personas procedentes de Puerto Rico y Miami el viernes 1º de febrero, un día antes de su presentación.

Gota Producciones -empresa encargada de traer al artista- dispuso alrededor de 20 personas para dar atención al artista que será transportado desde San José hasta el lugar del concierto en un automóvil de lujo con su respectiva escolta de seguridad.

Daddy Yankee saltará al escenario el sábado 2 de febrero a las 8 p.m. y su show durará en promedio dos horas.

Gangster and Funky Joe's triumphant debut occurred when they awoke the island's listeners, at 5:30 AM this morning, with their shenanigans on La Mega 106.9 FM. The first VIP to be awakened was the Governor of Puerto Rico, An�bal Acevedo Vila who confessed, after being surprised with the wake-up call, that after the interview he was definitely 'going back to sleep'". Later, the Mayor of San Juan, Jorge Santini, said a few words in support of the new program's launch.

During this time of the year, Puerto Rico celebrates the "Festival de San Sebastian", a preamble to "Carnaval," with the "zanqueros", the "cabezudos" and the "batukeo". Yesterday the "spirit" of the festival was effectively recreated on "El Circo" whose program captured the energy and exhilaration of a circus carnival.

The program was simulcast on radio and television (effective February 29, 2008) while simultaneously streaming on the web - a new revolutionary multimedia broadcast format.

On-hand to welcome the new show were the top executives of Spanish Broadcasting System; President and CEO, Ra�l Alarc�n, Executive VP and CFO, Joseph Garcia, Executive VP and COO, Marko Radlovic, and Chief Creative Officer and Executive Vice President, Cynthia Hudson-Fernandez." I couldn't miss coming to the Island for the launch of 'El Circo'", said Ra�l Alarc�n "Puerto Rico is an important market for SBS, and I feel right at home here", he concluded.
